GW Participates in Commonwealth Conference on Cyber and Education

The 2015 Commonwealth Conference on Cyber and Education was the first of its kind to discuss opportunities and strategies for building cyber talent with government, private sector and educational representatives. The day long event was held on December 2, 2015 and provided insights on emerging cyber trends, as well as opportunities for networking. 

The George Washington University helped to organize the conference as a sponsor, along with other area organizations, including the Northern Virginia Technology Council. GW Dean and Professor Dr. Ali Eskandarian introduced Virginia Governor, Terry McAuliffe. U.S. Senator Mark Warner also gave remarks, along with other government, private sector and educational leaders in the cyber field. In addition, the Capital Area Advanced Research and Education Network (CAAREN) was represented at the conference to share its work in the cyber sector, including the recently announced D.C. smart cities initiative
